On February 15, Friday, Rock confirmed the passing of his dad on a social media post, stating him as a remarkable father.
He wrote;
“My Dad, Bill Ritchie Sr., moved on to be with Jesus yesterday,” Kid Rock wrote. “He was an incredible father, grandfather, great grandfather, and so much more, none shy of being quite the character! Thank you for your condolences in advance. God bless you and I love you Pop!”
He shared more about his parents, who were once dealership owners in Sterling Heights and used to live in Royal Oak and Romeo.
Moreover, his father was known to be involved in the automotive industry, including serving as the chairman of the Detroit Auto Show in the 1980s.
As per Kid, the old man was initially conservative and cautious about his son’s involvement in the Detroit hip-hop scene. However, he gradually became more open-minded.
He also described Bill as someone with a strong work ethic and a fan of country music, such as the Rolling Stones and Bob Seger.
Therefore, Rock also shared his father, Bill Ritchie, excelled academically, graduating at the top of his business class at Michigan State University.
